Nature works and walks with the G-nature guides of De Maanwandelaars
Description
De Maanwandelaars vzw ensures that people with intellectual disabilities can live a life without limitations. As a team, you will volunteer at Den Buiten and De Kiem, two locations of De Maanwandelaars in Vremde.
Together with your colleagues and a number of enthusiastic residents, you will work in the experience garden. Activities may include: replenishing brushwood hedges, improving the barefoot path, sanding and painting the sensory wall, repairing bicycles, replanting a herb mound, repairing the roof of the fire hut, creating interactive wooden games in the forest, cleaning information boards, and more.
You will also head out into nature together with the G-nature guides of De Kiem.
It promises to be a wonderful day where slowing down and being together in nature take centre stage.
Program
- 09:30 | Arrival in the chapel with coffee and a cookie
- 10:00 | Welcome and introduction to De Maanwandelaars vzw + overview of the schedule and introductions
- 10:30 | Start of the activities
- 12:15 | Lunch with coffee, tea or water
- 13:15 | Project De Kiem in action – walk with the G-nature guides
- 14:30 | Finishing the activities and cleaning up

There is ample parking on site. Please carpool as much as possible.
Clothing
A detailed briefing will follow a few weeks before the activity.
- Please wear clothing that can get dirty and is suitable for the weather conditions on the day.
- Kindly wear closed shoes.
- Please bring your own work gloves.
Extra information
The activity will be conducted in Dutch as all residents of De Maanwandelaars with whom we will be working together speak Dutch.
