Community service day at our reception center (Fedasil Machelen)

Like all Fedasil centers, the reception center in Machelen is an open reception center where applicants for international protection receive shelter, food, medical, and social assistance while their application for international protection is being processed.

There is always something to do at our reception center. We regularly receive donations of clothing, toys, and other items that need to be sorted and distributed to our cloakroom and children's room. Our logistics department could also use some extra hands to put together welcome packages for new residents and replenish our stock. In addition, we occasionally refurbish certain areas, for example by painting them.

The work is varied and meaningful — every helping hand makes a difference!

We are very flexible in how we organize the program. The volunteer day can last a full day or half a day, depending on what suits your team best. We like to start with a tour of our reception center, where we explain more about Fedasil and how our center works.

In consultation with you, we always look for a schedule that meets your expectations and possibilities, so that it is a valuable and feasible experience for everyone.
